Borussia Dortmund finish Bundesliga season in draw with Cologne

Borussia Dortmund shared a 2-2 draw with Cologne on the final day of the Bundesliga season, a week ahead of arguably their most important game of the season.

Gonzalo Castro put Dortmund in front in the 11th minute, but Anthony Modeste and Milos Jojic turned the match on its head before the interval.

Marco Reus equalised for Dortmund, who will now look ahead to facing Bayern Munich in the final of the DFB-Pokal next weekend when they can get their hands on some silverware.

Castro put Dortmund ahead early on with a shot from 25 yards which few, in particular Cologne goalkeeper Thomas Kessler, was expecting.

The German found the top left-hand corner with Kessler unable to reach it.

Modeste brought Cologne level in the 27th minute when Sven Bender gave possession away cheaply in midfield and Marcel Risse's cross from the right was turned in by the French forward for his 15th goal of the season.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missed two good chances to restore Dortmund's lead, but it was Cologne who scored next two minutes before the break as a long ball over the top was lobbed over Roman Burki by Jojic, who did not celebrate scoring against his former club.

Modeste could have added a third for Cologne as they continued to do most of the attacking in the second half, with Dortmund's attention perhaps already shifting to their cup final date with Bayern next weekend.

They managed to find an equaliser, though, with Reus curling a free-kick round the wall and beyond Kessler's reach with 15 minutes remaining.
