Scotland need to win against Spain

euro 2012 liveCraig Levein called Spain "the best team Scotland have ever played" but still held out hope for a home win.

A Craig Mackail-Smith header secured a crucial 1-0 win in Liechtenstein on Saturday evening, moving Scotland a point above the Czech Republic into second place in Group I of Euro2012.

The final group games see the Czechs head to Lithuania on Tuesday evening, while Scotland take on the reigning world and European champions Spain in Alicante.

Levein's side are 13.00 to win the game and 34.00 to triumph by a 1-0 scoreline, while they are 7.50 to earn a draw which may be enough to ensure a play-off place.

"Our intention was to move into second place in the table and now we are in the position where the second place is ours to lose," Levein said.

"We are in a position I would have taken at the start of the campaign, where if we win the game we finish second, that's a fact.

"It is a tall order, we understand that but there is nothing for us to fear, that is the important thing, there is nothing to fear.

"We are playing the world champions, of course, but we are in the position where if we win the game we qualify."

Spain have won seven out of seven in Group I, winning 3-2 at Hampden Park when the two sides met in mid-October.
