Inter's Claudio Ranieri wary of 'dangerous' Cagliari

Claudio Ranieri - Inter

Inter coach Claudio Ranieri is targeting a win on Saturday, but knows that Cagliari will be no pushovers at San Siro.

The Nerazzurri have suffered a disastrous start to the campaign and are in 17th place with only two wins from nine games ahead of this weekend's round of fixtures.Despite believing that his side can win the game, the former Juventus and Chelsea boss is wary of the threat posed by the visiting team.

"They are a team that run and want to play well. It won't be an easy match, but if we put our minds to it we can beat them," he stated in a press conference on Friday.

"Cagliari are very dangerous: of the nine goals they have scored in total, seven of them were scored away from home. We have to play our own game with confidence and determination.

"That's the only way we are going to get out of this mess. We want to beat Cagliari: the most difficult match is always the next one, and the next one is tomorrow. And let's not forget that from now on every match is a cup final for us," he stated.

Ranieri has received a blow ahead of the game, as veteran defender Lucio will be unavailable through injury but hopes the Brazilian will recover in time for the Champions League clash against Trabzonspor.

"I hope to have him back on Tuesday, let's hope he can make it," the 60-year-old concluded.
